- ADC speaks on the benefits of Distributed District Energy Plants at the Power and District Cooling Summit in Kuwait

- The Power and District Cooling Summit under the esteemed patronage of The Ministry Of Electricity & Water, Kuwait between 29 April - 01 May 2012 at JW Marriott in Kuwait was hosted by Fleming Gulf. The participation of leading sector related entities from technology providers to government authorities and departments, research centers, industry players and other stakeholders.
Power and District Cooling Summit 2012 included t opics like Power Security through District Cooling based Energy Conservation, Role of Government – Regulations and Guidelines, Improving Power Generation Efficiency through employment of District Cooling, Rate structures for efficient District Cooling, Efficient Utilization of Thermal Energy Storage and Promoting Renewable Energy Utilization through District Cooling for discussion.
Khalil Issa, Managing Director at ADC Energy Systems, and a featured speaker at that conference, advocated the need for developing the second generation of district cooling; District Energy Plants (as in cogeneration and Trigeneration) and the benefits of having those distributed centers of energy located next to their actual markets and customers. Mr. Issa pitted that solution over the standard approach being adopted in the GCC with mega combined cycle power plants with the related transmission and distribution losses.
