Total installed capacity at the plant, the largest district cooling plant in Al Ain, expanded to over 18,000 RT
National Central Cooling Company PJSC “Tabreed”, the Abu Dhabi-based district cooling utility company, announced today the completion of the expansion of its district cooling plant in Al-Ain. The plant, which serves the UAE University, now has a total installed capacity of over 18,000 RT and has been expanded to meet the university’s forecasted demand during the summer. ADC Energy Systems that was mandated by Tabreed to perform the 5,000 TR works in a record period of 11 months, was successful in meeting that challenge as an EPC contract.
Sujit S Parhar, Tabreed’s CEO, said: “We are delighted to support the UAE University in expanding the world-class education infrastructure it offers its students. This expansion will increase the year-round energy-efficient, cost-effective and reliable cooling solutions that Tabreed supplies to the university and demonstrates our commitment to meeting our customers’ cooling needs”.
Ibrahim Sleiman, ADC’s CEO, commented on the same: “Though small in size, these works were equivalent to those expanded on larger plants with varying degrees of complexity in terms of approvals from authorities, procuring the litany of main equipment and sub-components under a strict submittal and approval scheme, and of course performing the civil construction and electro-mechanical installation works. Thanks to the combined effort of our construction team and head-office based team and the support of our Client, we were successful in handing over the operating plant in time”.
