Dubai Waste-to-Energy — Air Cooled Condensers

Structural steel and low-pressure steam ductwork for the air-cooled condensers of one of the world's largest waste-to-energy plants — 1.9 million tonnes of waste a year, 200 MW.

BESIX and partners are building the Dubai Waste-to-Energy plant in a single phase — one of the largest facilities of its kind in the world, processing 1.9 million tonnes of municipal waste a year and generating approximately 200 MW of renewable electricity.

In joint venture with the technology provider, ADC supplied and fabricated around 2,000 tonnes of structural steel for the air-cooled condenser and 700 tonnes of low-pressure steam ductwork from 6.5 m down to 0.85 m diameter connecting the turbine building to the ACC; pre-assembled fans, motors, coils and ductwork into modules; and transported and installed them on site.
